QuizUp and Final Fantasy X HD has dominated my game time, but I found enough time to sit down and see what was coming out. April starts with a big franchise making a late entry and a game I swear to the heavens has to be an April Fools joke. Oh, and some strategy games, because strategy gamers haven’t had enough to play lately… ~Don P.

Last years baseball effort by Sony wasn’t too good, if you ask our resident baseball game player Tony. A little late this year compared to most, MLB 14: The Show (PS3, Vita) comes to the portable and last-gen systems, with a PS4 release a month or so out. The list of improvements and additions this year makes me think it may be worth returning to, and it even has cross-platform play between the PS3 and Vita. I love sports games on Sony’s handhelds, past and present, and it looks like baseball is all we are getting on that front for a bit.

[one_third]releases01_makinghistoryI have been looking at Making History: The Great War (PC) this past week thinking, “Man, I can’t wait until the next Hearts of Iron game”. While that game takes place during WWII, Making History gives players a chance to change WWI. It’s not a Paradox game, so it doesn’t have the sparkle some of us have come to expect of grand strategy games these days, but it’s in a different time period, so history buffs may want to have a peek.[/one_third]

[one_third]releases01_ageofwonder3Age of Wonders III (PC) got some loving praise in Tony’s preview. A high-fantasy twist of Civilization, it has my interest peaked. There’s elves, magic, kingdoms, tactical combat, and a heritage of games with high MetaCritic scores at its roots. March ends with this release, making March sa great month to be a strategy gamer.[/one_third]

[one_third_last]releases01_goatI’m at a loss of words here. Goat Simulator (PC) has been getting a lot of press lately. This must be 2013’s Farm Simulator. I’m staying clear, but only because I have a bajillion things going on right now {plus you get enough goat love- editor} . But really, I have no idea what this is, besides a goat simulator.
