We stayed on November 14 for two nights at The Waterside Marina. I will definitely stop at Waterside Marina on my return trip. S/V BELLA DONNA. Only problem 3 of us on the same dock had during the day was that the dock power cannot handle the load and we all had electrical problems. But there's dozens of great restaurants, parks, and mass transit all within a 5 minute walk. Great marina in a great location right in the downtown area. All weekend the staff were great and super courteous made all of us feel very much at home. Nice marina with new dock facilities. I think the electric could use an update. We initially planned on staying 2 nights, but enjoyed the area with museums and restaurants on Granby St. we stayed extra night. The marina is in a great location. Great place close to lots of restaurants. Port is the side of the boat when facing forward. The bathhouse was a long walk from the docks. He hooked me up with some discounted tour tickets (greatly appreciated), called me on my cell when my dog escaped from the boat and offered great dinner recommendations at a nearby restaurant (Stripers). On second try , I hollered him to secure the line to a chock which he did and all was well! Cant comment on showers and laundry because we didnt use them. We were at the far end of the dock and could not get a usable Wi-Fi signal. Easy to get into, incredible location!! Highly recommended. The marina is attentive to security even during the night hours. Nightlife choices are endless and very close to the docks. Great facilities and the staff was super helpful and responsive. The floating docks were in great shape, the dock hands were all very helpful and there is so much nearby to enjoy. We came in after hours and he made it very easy with texted pictures and even follow up well after he left to make sure we got in an ok great location to walk to town and take in the Navy in Norfolk.
