A fresh batch of games this week. Is anyone else tired already ? (no!- editor) Two AAA releases this week, and soon I have Gran Theft Auto V on Xbox One and WWE 2K15. Meanwhile, I’m struggling to play three 3DS games and playing Diablo 3 and Destiny from time to time. I thought Call of Duty was rather “meh”, but more on that another time. A new Space Hulk game is coming out this week, though, so if you are into board games or strategy games, I highly recommend that one because it looks better than the original. Of course, if you have time to play that among everything else right now, I would crap my pants…~Don P.

Releases11_ACU

The annual AC game is out this week. Assassin’s Creed: Unity (PC, PS4, and Xbox One) takes place during the French Revolution this time, so would-be Assassin’s get to romp around in a new era. The bigger draw this year is the co-op, which to be honest looks more fun than the multiplayer. Don’t get me wrong, the multiplayer was intriguing at first, but there was not a hook to keep me away from other competitive games. Assassin’s Creed also rounds out the week for those that don’t like Halo (or don’t own an Xbox One). The bad thing is, every year I want to play AC, I start and end up playing other things that drag me away. It’s been far too long since I have invested a large amount of time to these rich, intriguing, and historical sandboxes. And what better time to sink my teeth into one than now?

Releases11_Halo

I have yet to say this about any collection of games on one disc, but Halo: The Master Chief Collection (Xbox One) may be the cream of the crop. Four Halo games, including every single multiplayer map, and a (are you sitting down for this?) 4,000 Gamerscore availability for players to scrounge up if they want to chase all 400 achievements. I tried Halo way back when it first came out, and didn’t get into it. The last few Halo games have really caught my interest though, I just didn’t have an Xbox 360. That’s okay, though, I have an Xbox One and am rather anxious to see what all of the fuss has been about. I’m not sure what I’m more excited about, over 100 multiplayer maps or finally living the Master Chief story for the first time.

[one_third]Releases11_LegBatmanLEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (3DS, PC, Wii U, Vita, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One) was the first series to make me finish a LEGO game. I’m more of a Marvel guy, but I know this household will have this game in it in the coming weeks. Kids and their LEGO games. [/one_third]

[one_third]Releases11_SpaceHulkI feel like it’s worth mentioning Space Hulk Ascension Edition (PC) because I reviewed the original and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now, the same game is back and packed with new content, including unit progression and new missions.[/one_third]

[one_third_last]Releases11_ACRIf you still haven’t moved on to the current generation of consoles, Ubisoft has not forgotten you, and is delivering Assassin’s Creed Rogue (PS3 and Xbox 360). Set in North America (again), and looks to have an enhanced naval combat system.[/one_third_last]
