This is mostly likely the last release list for the year. The Crew and Captain Toad end the year, and what a year it’s been. Titanfall came and conquered. Destiny came and flopped for nearly all of the staff here. Smash Bros. was great, and Pokemon is on my Christmas wish list. Personally, I finally got a 2DS (after laughing at the idea of it originally) and traded games from my beloved Playstation 3 to get an Xbox One. I didn’t see that coming for 2014, that’s for sure. And while I took a short break for a few months, I actually spent the majority of the year playing a mobile game, Marvel Puzzle Quest. With one month left in the year, it’s time to reflect on 2014 before looking forward to 2015 and its game of the year, Tom Clancy’s The Division…~Don P.

The Crew (PC, PS4, and Xbox One) is the final big release of the year. After playing Forza Horizon 2, The Crew is going to have to do a lot to impress me. The car selection is rather minute, but the promise of a vast, open world to drive in sounds entertaining. The official website shows off the cars with a few tuning specs of each, and I can’t wait to get my hands on a new Camaro and trick it out for the circuit. Widebody kits get me going. More so, I’m kind of fatigued on shooters at the moment. Destiny and Call of Duty burnt me out temporarily. So The Crew will hopefully be a refreshing breath of fresh air.

[one_half]Releases02_NESRemixIf there’s one thing Nintendo knows what to do, it’s tug on my nostalgic heart strings. Ultimate NES Remix (3DS) will do this by showering players with quirky, re-imagined NES challenges.[/one_half]

[one_half_last]Releases02_CaptainToadToad’s first starring role, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Wii U) looks whimsically cute. If you are into puzzle games, this 3D puzzle platformer should be up your alley. I personally will run and hide from this title: androgynous Toad is frightening.[/one_half_last]
