March is shaping up to be a good month, with solid games coming every week. I like this week a lot, because some of these great games I can actually enjoy. Though I still just want Titanfall. ~Don P.
Sony’s exclusive superhero game joins the current-gen lineup with inFamous Second Son (PS4) this week. This time around though, it’s not Cole, so players will have to get to know a new character. I loved the original inFamous game, and thought that Sucker Punch did a fabulous job at making Cole a likeable person. The second inFamous came along, and the character redesign didn’t jive with me and I had a bunch of other games to play. Right now, if I had a PS4, I’d look past my initial dislike for this new character design because the PS4 library isn’t stacked at the moment. So needless to say, I’ll probably be playing this one later on down the road. The neon powers look pretty awesome.
[one_third]This week gets an awesome looking dose of retro with Luftrausers (PC, PS3, & Vita), a modernized combination of airplanes and Asteroids. This looks like another “must-have” for Vita owners like myself who like games like Ollie Ollie and Hotline Miami.[/one_third]
[one_third]Pretty much every week or so, there has to be a strategy game released, this week it is Men of War: Assault Squad 2 (PC). It looks similar to Company of Heroes, so if you have been itching for a real-time strategy game during a more modern era, there you go.[/one_third]
[one_third_last]Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS3, PS4, X360, & Xbox One) caught me off guard this week. I almost crapped my pants, wondering why I was unaware of MGS5 coming out this week, and then I realized it was like a prequel game. Get excited? (Editor’s Note: For a glorified demo that is two hours long and cost $40? Nope.)[/one_third_last]
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster (PS3 & Vita) is making me antsy to play my Vita again. Well, that and Luftrausers, but I’m more excited than I thought I would be about this one. I admittingly enjoyed Final Fantasy X. I liked the romance, and a few of the characters. I loved the sphere grid and even blitz ball. So I look forward to returning to that one. I didn’t give X-2 much of a chance, because of the music heavily laced into the game. But I liked the idea of changing dresses to change classes. Either way, I’ve been waiting for a good RPG to enjoy on my handheld of choice, and it’s finally here.
