There are at LEAST a half dozen games on this list that I am interested in. I love that there is such a diverse selection of games coming out this week. From blockbuster add-ons, to reimaginings and HD remakes, and even a sick looking simulation about Mars, this week has me tickled with joy. Now, if only there was enough time to play them all. *sighs*~Don P.

BlackOps2Vengeance

It’s that time again, kids. Call of Duty: Black Ops II – Vengeance (PS3 and PC) is arriving on the non-Xbox 360 systems. Three new maps are included, another reimagined map from the original Black Ops game, and a new zombie map. Out of the four maps, the most interesting one sounds like Detour, where you skirmish atop a suspension bridge. I’ve tried getting into the zombie maps and modes that have been added since launch, and I still can’t stand anything to do with that mode. However, after the last map pack, which left me very impressed, I’m certainly wondering how this one fairs. As long as it is better than the first map pack, I’m fine.

[one_third]PixelJunkMonstersIf you own a Playstation 3, you have played at least one of the Pixeljunk games. My personal favorite was Pixeljunk Eden, but my wife’s favorite was the tower defense game which is coming to the Playstation Vita, Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate HD (PS Vita). Yes, it has torn our household apart, this argument, however, I will admit Pixeljunk Monsters is one of my favorite tower defense games. This is essentially the PSP version, only with more polished graphics and of course, trophies.[/one_third]

[one_third]TerrariaTerraria: Collectors Edition (PS3 & Xbox 360) has been out on PC for awhile now, and on PSN and XBLA for a little while. The hardcore Terraria fans can get some physical swag, though, by picking up the CE. You get a poster, a keychain, some trading cards (not the Steam ones, but REAL ones), and a physical copy of the game. I like the latter part just because I’d like to have a Terraria case on my games shelf.[/one_third]

[one_third_last]CastleStormAt E3 in 2012, a former-Vagary.tv colleague and myself had the pleasure to sit down with Zen Studios, where they showed us CastleStorm (PC). Kyle beat the level, surprising the representatives. Anyways, this quirky castle defense game is not the usual type of game expected from Zen Studios. The graphics are charming, it has some strategic depth to it, and you get to collapse castles. Sold.[/one_third_last]

[one_half]RiseoftheTriad001I’m actually in the mood for some nostalgic, 90’s-era shooter fun, which is exactly what Rise of the Triad (PC) looks like. This is the reimagining of the MS-DOS game of the same name. Except now you can create your own levels for multiplayer, which is rather neat. [/one_half]

[one_half_last]TakeOnMarsHave you ever thought to yourself, “Those NASA guys are clowns! I could do a better job of exploring Mars”? At some point, we all have, and Bohemia Interactive has taken the steps to realize that thought process with Take on Mars (PC). You pilot rovers and other intelligence-gathering vehicles and explore the vast Red Planet. There are three modes, including a mission designer and scenario mode, but it’s really all about the Space Program mode, where you complete missions to earn money and rewards that will further enhance your program.[/one_half_last]
