After a couple weeks of blockbuster overload, Hollywood has taken a step back and we only have one big title arriving this week. It is actually quite nice to have a breather for a change. ~Chris
If you hate the prominence of comic book movies in theaters year after year, you can lay the majority of the blame squarely at the feet of Hugh Jackman. His portrayal of Wolverine, without a doubt, was one of the driving forces in bringing superheroes back to prominence after years of relative obscurity. Unlike many other actors that play superheroes on film, Jackman has owned that portrayal, both good and bad. His ownership of the character is something to be commended and despite the last stand alone Wolverine film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, being something of a mess, it is hard to not cheer for the guy. Jackman’s latest turn at the character comes in The Wolverine and it looks like it might be correcting some of the problems that plagued the last film, while setting up an all new X-Men film to come out next year.
