With August wrapping up this weekend, we have officially entered the dumping ground for films not worthy of a blockbuster film push and not good enough for an awards push. As such, this weekend we are given Selena Gomez in a car or One Direction on a stage. At least Selena is pretty. ~Chris

Getaway sees Ethan Hawke stealing Selena Gomez and her car in a race against the clock to save his wife. The premise is utterly absurd but fast cars are fast cars and this looks to be some mindless fun worthy of a Saturday viewing if nothing else is going on.

One Direction is evidently the Beatles of this generation. Not really but the insanely popular boy band are getting their own concert film, One Direction: This is Us, that is getting the widest release in theaters this week. I’m not sure what the appeal is of watching a concert film in theaters is but I didn’t get it when Hannah Montana took the number one spot in 2008 with one either so maybe I am just old.
