I'm never ever doing that again. I now have side effects basically with joint pain due to the antibiotic treatment I had to take in order to cure it. Pretty happy now. I am going to have to change to another brand of coffee next time I go to the store. It's the only way I'll drink coffee anymore. In a bad way. Still horrible. it does not taste good at all. At one point after a couple weeks of drinking, I noticed there was an odd chemical taste/smell to the coffee. I had to throw out the whole can .. If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito! One of the main reasons why Maxwell House coffee isn't as fine as regular brewed coffee is because of the beans and the roasting process. My world blew up in my face, so to speak. Found a canister I hadn't finished, not expired and I made a pot. It seems like these days most top brands have turned to crap trying to ride on the reputations they established last century, brand recognition means nothing these days. The headache. I bought Maxwell House (original med roast) on sale at CVS. After a few incidents I stopped drinking Folgers, until recently. If your coffee is making you sick, report it! Been suffering with stomach issues for yrs. looks like some of the comments related to mine are in the past 30-60 days. The same way you feel during a flu (minus the mucas). I can drink other coffee with no problem. Someone has to warn people with celiac because Maxwell house labeling is incorrect. Did not biuy again until this past week I decided to try it again. I don't plan on ever purchasing another product made by MH. I will not drink anymore. I'm sitting on the crapper (sorry if tmi) right now and search "Maxwell house ma" and suggestions comes up with "makes me sick." Then suddenly every single time I drank it, I got immediate horrible cramps, was nauseaous & running to the bathroom. While personally I think any instant coffee tastes horrible, nevertheless I do make sure to keep on hand for my husband. I know one thing for sure.not ever drinking it again. It's a great daily coffee and everyone that we invite over comments on how smooth it is and then is surprised to learn it's Maxwell House. I have drank Maxwell House coffee for many years. It's almost as if it has been spiked with some drug.What has happened to it? never will i buy it again.. My husband and I like the Maxwell House "Rich Original", which does not seem easy to find. I just quit drinking it and changed to starbucks morning verona blend and i haven't had any problem since. I bought Folgers and the first time I drank it, had to run to bathroom. These coffees used to taste great, now they taste like poison!! I recently bought a can of ground, medium roast, MH coffee. So why is America selling 100 percent Arabica? What the hell is going on? Almost nothing is wasted and put out on the market as Fresh(on some labels). I can't even enjoy that stuff anymore. Properly brewed, (Melita) I found I could drink it during the week at work, at a considerable savings, and drink the good stuff on the weekends. The price is twice as much and the quality is half as good. I was so disappointed I used to love it. Every day for about a week now my day starts off as normal, then I have Max, then I feel like total garbage all day, shaky, nauseous, minor headache, no energy, churning guts. Some brands of coffee affect me this way, but most brands don't, which doesn't make sense if this were an allergy. I suppose there was a certain amount of outrage since it tasted like cat poop. I have suffered with sharp abdominal pains and acid reflux for about a week. I've never had this bad of a reaction before. Shortly thereafter, I experienced extreme nausea, stomach cramps and disrharrea (sp). I thought I was getting a stomach flu, but the symptoms never came to a head. I'd be nuts to buy Chock Full any more. I used rich original, but now the bag or can says Arabica beans. I actually thought I might be having an allergic reaction due the odd soreness/tightness in my throat. Unless the barista adds a half-pinch of salt or baking soda, the bitter taste is overwhelming and ruins the experience. Our coffee smells like skunk when being made. Within the past 2 months I have noticed that the smell when it is brewing has a sickening smell, kinda like burning hair. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRAND! But they get pricey so I get a can of maxwell or foldgers every now and then. It gave me a dull headache, and I never get headaches. I drink tea in place of coffee but that's rare. Sometimes another person will chime in and say that they don't do well on certain brands of coffee either, so I'm not really sure what is causing the discrepancy of individual coffee tolerance vs. coffee brands - because, although this site seems to put Maxwell House above Folgers in terms of offensive symptoms post-consumption, MH is actually on my safe list for coffee. Decided maybe I just got a one-time "bad batch". I opened the lid on the big plastic maxwell house container and once again got a pungent, chemical smell. What they are not considering is the fact that the coffee is making us sick and so is the price. If the last jar I had is an indication of what this product has turned into, I will never purchase it again. I am now in search of a better tasting coffee. The stuff is fine if you need cleared out. I wonder what they put in it? I was getting tired of the flavor, and picked up some Folgers French Roast (just dark coffee). We even have a little 4 cupper we tried. Can't drink it and returning it to the store. It was pretty obvious then that the problem was my Maxwell House Coffee. I Am in utter shock!!! No stomach problems either. Nope! Oh and it's not the instant, just the grounds. Nothing has changed except the taste of the coffee. But in the future you might want to give others thoughts, some consideration it just might save you. I cleaned the new percolator, brewed a pot of plain water, then made a pot of fresh coffee (using bottled water) and it is the coffee!! There are so many better choices now. I have always received a good product.However, the coffee I have been buying has been tasting like colored water. The old one you could put your fingers through the handle and that made it soooooo much easier to hold. This has happened only once before couple years ago. I eventually noticed this only came on while drinking the coffee. We changed to Folgers an all seemed well for about 5 months. we, too, can no longer drink Maxwell House coffee in either the Wake Up, Breakfast Blend, or our ..all-time favorite Original Roast. This incident is scary, I cleaned out my last pot with vinegar as I usually clean my pot, the coffee pot starting making loud sounds and the whole bottom blew out I looked in the water tank and it was nothing but white foam, I wish i would have saved that foamy crap to have it tested, also the coffee has a oily reisdue on the top. I've been having daily issues for nearly a year and never realized it was the MH Breakfast Blend I loved to drink. I been suffering since july. it's a morning ritual of frowns and complaining, sticking out our tongues, complaining, thinking we'd lost our taste buds and finally started sneaking my old ma's instant taster's choice from time to time and even adding it to our MH water, lol. The grocery store didn't have out regular coffee brand, so my husband bought Maxwell House and since the day I started drinking it, I have been getting diarrhea, nausea, a lot of gurgles in my stomach, I feel bloated & I'm getting headaches. It has opened my eyes and I think I need to switch brands. Call Kraft-1-800-7057238 tell them about your horrible experience with this awful MAXWELL COFFEE, maybe then they'll take it serious because they sure don't seem to believe it can be their coffee making us all very sick.
