Lightning Returns! Last week was an old-school RPG, this week is the third installment in the Final Fantasy XIII saga. Different strokes for different folks, but still. I get my game, Tony gets this strategy game, and Chris and Jeff are just out of luck this week. Now if they would just releases that 1.2 console patch for Terraria already… ~Don P.
The end of Final Fantasy XIII-2 was a jaw-dropping cliffhanger, for those dozen or so people that finished it like myself. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3 & Xbox 360) has been at the top of my “Most Wanted” list since it was announced because I just can’t wait to see how they resolve that ending. On top of that semi-finale, I’m even more excited to play as Lightning again, one of my favorite characters in the franchise. XIII-2, while great in its own right, was disappointing for the sole fact that Lightning was on the cover, but not playable. Hopefully, I enjoy the end of the trilogy as much as I have enjoyed the previous two games, but I’m a hair skeptical since this is supposed to be more action-oriented.
[one_half]Tony loves strategy games, and if you add historical Rome to it, he gets even more excited. Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar (Early Access) (PC) has a neat approach to this era, giving players the option of playing as the barbarian tribes and uniting against Caesar’s crushing, historical takeover. I imagine Tony is salivating in anticipation of this game.[/one_half]
[one_half_last]Far Cry Compilation and Fary Cry Classic (PS3 & Xbox 360) give gamers the chance to replay classic games on more modern systems. Nothing particularly fancy here, but budget-priced games are always a good thing.[/one_half_last]
