First week of October, and chaos is breaking loose as usual. On a personal note, I have a dozen birthdays coming up, three holidays (which you all know about), a craft festival upon me, and Extra-Life in a few weeks. Gaming wise, Smash Bros. is out and I want that, Destiny is still crack on a disc, and Forza Horizon 2 is failing to impress so far (Editor’s Note: which just goes to show Don’s lack of taste. -CS). On the bright side, there’s a new sports game out, and some other games for people to dabble with.~Don P.

Releases7_NBA2K15

It’s kind of weird, usually when I get prepared to write these up, I do some reading on the interwebs about them to find out new features, bullet points, etc.  NBA 2K15 (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One) has very little information about it. It’s the 17th iteration, it has a strong lineage, and it has Kevin Durant on the cover. But because it has a strong lineage, maybe they are not tampering with it much this year? Maybe NBA 2K14 was so good, they just made a new basketball game, enhanced the graphics, updated the rosters, and that was it? Time will tell.

[one_half]Releases7_SkylandersI’m ready to stop seeing these, to tell you the honest truth. The first Skylanders game was really neat. The second one, with Giants, felt forced, but was still pretty cool. SWAP Force looked ridiculous (Editor’s Note: it was also the best game in the franchise). And now, in Skylanders: Trap Team (3DS, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One), we can “trap bad guys and use them”? Nope, I’m done.[/one_half]

[one_half_last]Releases_FeaturedOf all the things coming out, this one had the most promise for me personally. Alien: Isolation (PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One) is a survival-horror’ish game, and tries to do so with one Alien. I never had much hope, but it has to be better than that last abomination that was an Aliens game. I miss Aliens vs. Predator. [/one_half_last]

[one_third]Releases7_ProjectSparkCreative folks out there get Project Spark (PC and Xbox One), which has had a long running beta released. Players can make little games, videos, or whatever their hearts desire in this title.  be[/one_third]

[one_third]Releases7_CostumeQuestOnly one Double Fine game gets high praises from me, so I’m slightly interested in it’s sequel, Costume Quest 2 (PC). Now, if only it would come out on consoles.[/one_third]

[one_third_last]Realeasses7_DriveclubDriveclub (PS4), at one time, had my attention. But it was delyaed a year, which may be for the better, and I switched console loyalty. The social aspect, ie. clubs, sound really neat though.[/one_third_last]
