The next few weeks is about to get hairy. Instead of one big release a week, with some other good players, we are about to get dumped on in a downpour of great games. Rather, potential great games. I know my wallet is not ready, and my Gamefly account will struggle to keep up. Is it the end of November yet?.~Don P.
I still remember watching Sunset Overdrive (Xbox One) at E3, and scratching my head. People were excited, but I was confused. Now, after a little bit of reading, it sounds better and better. Insomniac, famed for Resistance and the Ratchet & Clank series, is making this open-world, third person shooter. The character customization looks like my main focal point, as I love creating and enhancing characters. It looks like Saints Row with all the goofiness, so I’m not sure it will stick with me. Despite being a complete goofball, I tend to like my games serious. That being said, if you have an Xbox One, this is probably on your list of games to play.
[one_half]Guy does a lot of bad things. Even badder things start attacking humans. Guy is released from prison to earn his redemption. That is the premise of Lords of the Fallen (PC, PS4, and Xbox One). What the game has working for it is that an action-RPG genre effort, and that main protagonist is one scary looking dude. It’s also not open world, but with all of these open world games releasing, I know I would find some relief being directed where to go right now.[/one_half]
[one_half_last]Not only is Europa Universalis IV: Art of War expansion (PC) coming out, but there’s also a major feature-injecting patch coming to fans of this wonderful and time-consuming grand-strategy game. The number and typeof enhancements are too technical and varied to explain, or even hype, in a small paragraph, just know the game is getting a great overhaul with this expansion.[/one_half_last]
[one_third]I guess I was wrong a few weeks ago, because Costume Quest 2 (PS3 and PS4) is coming to consoles. Fitting, as Halloween is this week. Hopefully it is as charming as the first.[/one_third]
[one_third]NBA Live 15 (PS4 and Xbox One) faces a stiff opponent in NBA 2K15, but it’s nice to see some possible competition in the basketball realm. Maybe EA should make a full-fledged NBA Jam with a career mode and such to spice the field up.[/one_third]
[one_third_last]The Legend of Korra: A New Era Begins (3DS) is an RPG based on the Nickelodeon show Avatar. The graphics look pretty, and I’ve heard a few people mention it on Twitter. So it has some buzz?[/one_third_last]
