The crazy March rush is over and we are now a quarter of the year into 2014, along with a good start on shaping our overall Game of the Year discussion. Games like Titanfall, Dark Souls II, Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, and South Park failed to disappoint those of us that played them and they have seemingly cemented positions on our personal charts.

With that in mind, we bring you the 2014 April Power Rankings.

10. Assassin’s Creed Unity (9 points, new entry)

The series finally comes to the French Revolution, like God intended.

9. Galactic Civilizations 3 (9 points, same position)

I loved the last game, but my excitement will only grow once the ship designer is finally launched to the early access version.

8. Dark Souls II (10 points, -3 position change, one first place vote)

Despite being the lone staff member to pick the game on his list, Jeff refused to write anything about his favorite game of the year so far. And thus you get this filler.

7. Alien: Isolation (12 points, +1 position change)

Developer The Creative Assembly sounds like it has its heart in the right place. Survival horror based on the original Alien, in which every encounter with the title creature likely means death? That alone ensures it will be better than Colonial Marines, at the very least.

6. Watch Dogs (14 points, back on the list)

Regardless of how Watch Dogs turns out when it’s finally released, the latest trailer has me hyped to explore (terrorize) a virtual Chicago.

5. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls (14 points, +2 position change)

Blizzard heard the complaints from hardcore fans about the base structure of Diablo III, and while the changes don’t fix everything, Reaper of Souls certainly advances the cause considerably. And you can play a lady crusader.

4. Halo 5 (20 points, +2 position change)

We’ve yet to hear word if Halo 5 is actually coming this year, but if it is, you can be assured that Master Chief won’t be going anywhere on this list.

3. South Park: The Stick of Truth (21 points, no position change, one first place vote)

It’s like a playable season of South Park. What more could you want?

2. Titanfall (30 points, -1 position change, two first place votes)

I’m a gaming addict. I have to play everything- as many games as possible. But now that I have Titanfall, I can’t play anything else.

1. Destiny (40 points, +1 position change, one first place vote)

Bungie changed the landscape for console first person shooters three times. Could Destiny be its fourth title to do so? We here at Critically Sane certainly believe it might.

On the Bubble
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Lord of the Rings: Shadow of Mordor
Mario Kart 8
